The 17th Cavalry Regiment traces its history to 1916. Its 2nd Squadron, 2-17 CAV is an Army aviation cavalry unit with a history of reconnaissance and attack missions.

The patch came from an actual uniform. Now, instead of being tucked away, that piece of history gets to keep going.
